The Kogi State Signage and Advertisment Agency has read a riot act against person destroying and defacing billboards in the state.

In a statement issued by the General Manager, Richard Osaseyi, in Lokoja on Tuesday, the Agency said the unprovoked destruction and defacing of several billboards of gubernatorial candidates of various parties across the state is not only condemnable but also cowardly and despicable.

Osaseyi warned that the intolerable acts will no longer be condoned in the state.

He issued a strong and firm warning to every person involved in the barbaric acts to desist immediately as anyone caught in the act or involved in any way will face the full wrath of the law.

“The general public is to note that billboards across the State were erected with the permission of the Agency; huge sums of money were expended in obtaining permits and erecting these billboards. Destroying these billboards also defaces and mars the beauty of our dear State.

“The Agency will launch an investigation immediately to fish out these undesirable elements and subsequently prosecute those found wanting in the Court of Law,” he said.

He urged residents to report the criminal acts to the appropriate authorities immediately for the overall good of the state.
