The leadership of Kogi West Initiative have commiserated with the former Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, over the death of his mother, Madam Florence Awoniyi.
Late Madam Florence died on 8th May 2023 at the Evercare Hospital, Lekki, Lagos, after a brief illness.
The group, in a statement jointly signed by Hon. Soji Olumorin, Alh. Ganiyu Salaudeen (Erukutu) and
Alh. M. O. Sule, sent words of comfort and encouragement to the former Deputy Governor and the entire Awoniyi family.
The statement reads “We received the news of the transition of your lovely mother with a very heavy heart. The death of a loved one especially a mother is one unfortunate thing that happens to people but we can not avoid it because death is inevitable.
“We are aware of the bond that exists between you and your mother but the testimony of her good deeds is enough to encourage you at this trying moment of yours”.
“We sincerely pray that God Almighty Comfort and console the entire family and give you the fortitude to bear the loss.”
The group requested that the Awoniyi family, through the former Deputy Governor, should inform them about the funeral arrangements.
