Annual Lecture: Gov. Bello to Receive Nigerianpost’s ‘Man of the Year’ Award

As the Nigerianpost Newspapers holds its Annual Lecture and Impact Series/Awards on August 25, 2022, Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has been nominated to be honoured with the Nigerianpost’s ‘Man of the Year’ award.

A statement by Mr Michael Abu, the Publisher/Editor-In-Chief, Nigerianpost Newspapers, on Monday in Lokoja, said the event would hold on August 25, 2022, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Lokoja.

According to Abu, the event is part of activities to mark the anniversary of the creation of Kogi State, and would be chaired by the former Minister of State, Labour and Productivity, Prof. Chief Stephen Ocheni.

He said that His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello would be the Special Guest of Honour, and would be honoured with ‘Man of the Year’ award, while the Maigari of Lokoja, Alh. Mohammed Maikafi 111, would be the Royal father of the day.

He explained that the Nigerianpost lecture series, with the theme: ” Governance, Leadership Redefined; This House Must Not Fall”, would be delivered by an academics, Joel Tope.

He added that the Chief of Staff to Kogi State Government, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku, would deliver Keynote address on “Kogi @ 31: This House Must Not Fall”, which would look at Politics, National Security and Nigeria’s Stability.

He disclosed that the Kogi Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo; and NUJ Chairman, Comr. Adeiza Momohjimoh, would be the Chief Hosts at the event.

He said the choice of the topic was informed by the need to contribute to the country’s political development, engender peace and national cohesion.

Abu also said that the event is dedicated to finding workable solutions to the challenges associated with elections, national security, peace and stability of the country.

”The event is also organised to honour key political actors, players in the private sector, individuals and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) among others, who have proven their worth in specific areas of governance and human endeavours.” he said.

Others to receive awards at the event include: Prof. Stephen Ocheni as an ‘Outstanding Public Servant of the Year’; Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku as ‘Outstanding Administrator’;   Kogi Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, for his positive impacts in the state’s Education sector.

Other are: the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo; and Provost, College of Education Ankpa, Dr. Mohammed Kabiru would for there outstanding performances in quality learning and infrastructure development

Nigerianpost best Council Chairmen of the Year awards would go to Hon. Abdulraheem Ohiere (Security) and Hon. Yakubu Aboh of Okehi and Omala LGA, (Grassroots development)

Comr. Onuh Edoka, Kogi State NLC Chairman as ‘Outstanding Labour Chairman’ in the state’s history; Comr. Tade Adeyemi, State NULGE President, for staying the course amidst daunting challenges in LG administration in the State.

Others are Hon. Sunday Karimi, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, Hon. Shaba Ibrahim, Hon. Leke Abejide, Hon. Abdulraheem Sanni, Mr. Bolufemi Rotimi, as well as NGOs: Osaseyi Foundation, Enemona Josh Humanitarian Foundation as Philanthropists of the Year.

Amb. Oladele Nihi would be honored with the Kogi outstanding (Young Person of the Year), Award.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission would get award for its outstanding role in safeguarding, advancing interest and wellbeing of consumers in Nigeria, while BN Ceramics Ajaokuta would be honored for quality brand award.

Kogi State NEWMAP, Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency as well as Kogi Enterprises Development Agency would be honoured for their outstanding quality performances in controlling environmental degradation, Implementation of N-Cares program and Support For SMEs and improving livilihood in Kogi respectively, since the state’s creation
