The State Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Aturu Bishop felicitates with Muslim faithfuls in the association for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting.
He made this known in a statement jointly signed by the state Chairman, Aturu Bishop and his Secretary, Lawal Aliyu.
According to the statement, the chairman noted that the celebration of this year Eid-ul-Fitr has come at a very challenging time due to global fight against Covid-19 pandemic which has badly crippled economy activities and also the rising security challenges in the country.
The statement urged Muslim faithfuls to use the occasion to pray for the healing of our nation, the world at large from the ongoing pandemic and also expose those behind heinous crimes.
The statement further encouraged members to remain steadfast and committed towards the doctrines of Allah and as well be a light of change to the society.
“He charged Muslims to continue to uphold the tenets of Ramadan such as attaining piety, seeking nearness to Allah, cultivating good manners, abstaining from vices, showing love and giving in charity, reading the Quran amongst others”.
He however urged members of the association to celebrate the festival moderately as they prepare to embark on the activities of the association.
