The Founder and Chief Enterprise Officer of Edushine Educational Foundation, Dr Safiya Stephanie Musa has called on Muslims to properly reflect over the life of the holy prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), with a view to tackling the complexities of the modern challenges.
In her Eid Maulud goodwill message to the Muslim Ummah, Dr Safiya described the present situation in Nigeria as though very challenging, but not intractable, if we are committed to the core message of peace, love and oneness preached by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
While enjoining Muslims to use the period of the Eid Maulud holiday meant to mark his birthday anniversary to pray fervently for the quick restoration of peace and unity among all Nigerians, she particularly called on the youths to exercise restraint, having made their grievances known to the government which is responding accordingly to them.
She expressed sadness that despite the well intention of the #EndSARS campaign, its subsequent hijack by some hoodlums have led to unprecedented looting of some personal and government properties across the country with unfortunate loss of some lives in some cases.
Dr Safiya, however, promised to use her NGO to continue to support all government programmes on youth empowerment, especially in the areas of education and skills acquisition, saying that’s the message of good neighbourliness which the prophet preached to humanity.
“As Muslims, we must use this period of Eid Maulud celebration to understand the meaning of our religion and the stands of the Prophet at a critical time like the one that we are in now in Nigeria,” she pointed out.
“The Prophet preached the religion of Islam, which means peace, to mankind; and it’s the responsibility of all Muslims to propagate that central message of the religion by always avoiding acts capable of instigating violence and causing avoidable loss of lives,” Dr Safiya added.
She prayed for peaceful coexistence, harmony and understanding among all the diverse people of Nigeria, especially the youths who she said, should always fly the banners of love in whatever they do. The youth supporter also thanked all those that have continued to demonstrate genuine concerns for youth development in the country through their various support for government and nongovernmental organisations and urged them not to renege in their commitment.
She wished all Nigerians a peaceful, happy and safe Eid Maulud celebration.
