Association of former and serving public office holders under the aegis of Public Office Holders Association of Nigeria (POHAN) has commiserated with the government and people of Kogi State over the unfortunate inferno that claimed 23 lives in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on Wednesday.
The National President of the POHAN, Bashorun MD Eseyin who led the state chapter of the association on a visit to sympathize with the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, described the incident as very unfortunate and disheartening.
While expressing worry over the re-occurring cases of accident along the road leading to the Polytechnic, POHAN extended its sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives in the inferno.
“While we empathize with associates of those who lost their lives, we equally extend our goodwill message to those who lost valuable properties and pray that God replace their losses with greater valuables.
“As we mourn those who lost their lives and count our losses, we also want to urge the government to critically look into this reoccurring incidence and provide a sustainable measure to ensure maximum control in case of future occurrence,” he said.
