The Win With Tinubu (WWT) Project in Kogi State on Thursday convened a Town Hall Meeting in Idah, drawing supporters, community leaders and political stakeholders from the Idah/Igalamela-Odolu/Ibaji/Ofu Federal Constituency, as the group intensifies grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
The event, held at Mary Pat Event Centre, Sabongari, Idah, forms part of WWT’s ongoing engagement drive across Kogi East, a programme organisers say is designed to take political and policy conversations beyond urban centres and into local communities.
Proceedings for the day opened with a courtesy visit to the palace of the Attah Igala, where the WWT delegation paid homage to the traditional institution before proceeding to the main event — a gesture organisers said reflected the project’s recognition of traditional leadership as central to grassroots outreach.
At the Town Hall itself, large numbers of WWT supporters and Tinubu admirers turned out in branded T-shirts and caps, in what organisers described as evidence of the project’s growing visibility and organisational reach across the constituency.
Speaking on behalf of the WWT Kogi State Chairman, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, the project’s State Coordinator, Hon. Sani Philips, took participants through the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration. His address covered government interventions in infrastructure, agriculture, education, youth and student support, economic development, employment generation, small and medium enterprises, and national security.
Hon. Philips also spoke on the administration’s broader policy direction and outlook, urging sustained public engagement and stronger grassroots communication between the government and citizens. Other co-chairmen of the project were represented at the meeting.
Organisers said the Town Hall went beyond political messaging to serve as a direct engagement platform between the project’s leadership and residents of the constituency, with WWT officials stressing the need for closer interaction between political structures and the electorate across Kogi State’s three senatorial districts.
The Idah meeting is the latest in a series of constituency-level Town Halls being rolled out by WWT Kogi. The project said the engagement will next move to the Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency, followed by the Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, as it works to extend its reach across the state’s remaining federal constituencies.
WWT Kogi described the Idah event as a strong show of grassroots support and said the momentum from the meeting would carry into subsequent legs of the Town Hall series.
