Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has felicitated with Muslims on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
Alh. Ohere, in his sallah message, urged the Muslim faithfuls to uphold their obedience to Allah in all circumstances, and challenges.
The Commissioner urged Muslims to expand the spiritual benefits of Eid by ensuring and promoting peaceful co-existence with each other and people of other faiths and shun violence and religious conflicts in whatever form they may manifest.
“What we are celebrating today is neither the blood nor the ram meat but a holy ritual to commemorate the essence of total submission and obedience to the commandment and will of almighty Allah as exemplified by our Prophet Ibrahim A.S and his son, Ismail,” he said.
He further admonished Kogites to sustain their prayers and good wishes for the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello in its bid to deliver good governance and infrastructural development.
He enjoined Muslims to pray and conduct themselves peacefully during and after the Sallah celebration.
“Let me congratulate all Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir Festival. I wish all of us many more of this season ahead. Be obedient, tolerant, prayerful and exhibit patience at all times as Allah has promised to reward those attributes. ‘Inna llaha ma’ saabireen’ Allah is indeed with the patient (Q2:153).”
