Amazons Walks for Peace in Kogi West

The Amazons for Peace Initiative has urged electorate Kogi West to embrace non-violent means of politicking as the state prepares for the November 16 governorship election.

Speaking during the group’s peace walk to in Isanlu on Thursday, the Kogi West Coordinator, Hon. Bimpe Alfred explained that the Amazons for Peace Initiative is committed to propagating unique grassroots awareness for non-violent polls in the state.

She called on women in the zone to support and vote for Governor Yahaya Bello to ensure continuity of development and enhanced security in the state.

Alfred noted that they chose to promote peace because it guarantees stability and development in all sectors and as mothers, they believe it can be sustained with the continuity of Governor Bello in office beyond 2020.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony, the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Ayoade, said women in the western senatorial district have come together to drum support for Governor Bello whom she described as an achiever, a pacesetter and apostle of good governance.

She stated that the group is embarking on peace walks across the state to ensure a peaceful and criss-free electoral process in the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state.

The event had in attendance, Hon. Nana Abu Ali, the founder of Amazons for Peace Initiative and other female appointees of government.
