The situation of things in Kogi State seem to be intricately deep that if All Progressive Congress (APC) is not calculative and sensitive enough, it would be handing over the state back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state. It is, however, not a herculean task for the APC as the Kogites body language is decipherable.
APC chieftains have seen Kogites come on national televisions, papers and social media enmass to register their dissatisfaction against Bello’s administration. The Chairman of the National Working Committee, Adams Oshomhole is not oblivious of the poor performance of Yahaya Bello.
The effect of Bello’s maladministration is felt in all the nooks and crannies of the state and has plunged the state into abject hardship. The massive outcry emanating from Kogi state as a result of bad governance makes its own election more talked about than that of Bayelsa State. This should give APC a cause for thinking.
APC laboured very hard to get hold of Kogi in 2015, it would be a wasted effort for the party to still go ahead to project Bello who is obviously not wanted back by the people. The people have resolved to vote out Bello, the party should not dare them.
Considering the damage already done to the image of the APC by Bello, the party is expected to provide an impeccable candidate with an immaculate track record like Prince Mustapha Mona Audu to be able to win and retain Kogi state for the party. With Bello, it will be a walk over for the PDP. With Mona, it’s a landslide victory for the APC. Let APC makes her choice.
