Saturday, 25th of August 2018 was the wedding ceremony of Muhamed Nasir, my very good friend and son of an APC chieftain in Ankpa local government area, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims Abdullahi and so, Egula community where the groom chose his bride from was greeted with high profile personalities to mark the wedding “fatiha” during the weekend.
Spotted in the picture is Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu of Ankpa 2 constituency, Kogi state house of assembly and he is been hosted by the Egwula central mosque management committee while he was at the community to attend a wedding fatiha this weekend.
Ordinarily, this post is not necessary save for a previous event.
If you recall, Hon Rabiu was at Egwula few weeks back to inspect work progress on the mosque which he decided to complete to standard and naysayers came up with parallel fallacies aimed at misinforming the general public as well as the good intentions of the workaholic honorable but as expected of a sincere and servant leader, he called me and said…
“Nas, don’t make posts to argue but to encourage those who are not doing anything for communities. Your work ends at posting my programs and whether or not you post it, the direct beneficiaries know the truth. No need for argument because my only publicity intent is to encourage public office holders towards helping our people, Nothing more” he said.
I felt a bit bitter that rather than appreciate my time and energy put forth at proving the obvious, he ordered decorum but I never doubted him for his wherewithal never goes down.
Alas, the wisdom of his thought and approach came to bear when he came for my friends wedding this weekend. Even though he was a bit late, on noticing his presence, the mosque leaders mobilised themselves and took him to the mosque which is now completed for special prayers and further blessing.
Afterwards, they assured him of their unalloyed support to all his aspirations and only then I realised how good it is to do good for goodness sake. No matter how big or small, it won’t go unnoticed and not even the walls of cemetery can serve as a barrier between it and the direct beneficiaries.
Indeed, Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu’s leadership dexterity, community development efforts, sincerity of purpose, blunt nature, upright temperament and focused resolve is a blessing to the people of Enjema and Ojoku districts of Ankpa local government area of Kogi state. Hence, the need to reelect him. Of course, a good term deserves another and Ankpa 2 cannot afford to jeopardize that.
