The Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied insinuations that the party rejected moves by Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West/APC) to rejoin the party.
In a statement issued by Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation, the PDP denounced the statement credited to the PDP that it rejected Sen. Melaye as false, misleading.
Achadu cautioned newsmen on sensationalism.
He stated that the PDP is ready and willing to accept all its returning and new members. He described the misleading statement in circulation as a product of a press conference by a group but with a different headline credited to the PDP. He maintained that the purported statement did not emanate from the party in the state.
He said contrary to the misleading reports, Kogi PDP views Senator Melaye as a valuable asset to the party.
Achadu, however, said all candidates of PDP will emerge through a free, fair and transparent party primaries.
The PDP warned mischief makers who are bent of creating disaffection amongst the ranks of it members to desist from spreading misleading information as that will not stop the party regaining power in 2019.
