Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi state has commended Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali for leading other opposition federal lawmakers and their state counterparts on its seamless activities amidst provocation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The state chairman, Engineer Sam Uhuotu gave the commendation during the stakeholders meeting held in Lokoja to re-invigorate the machinery of the party towards the forthcoming political activities.
The party leadership stated that the doggedness of Aidoko in reclaiming and sustaining his mandate through the law courts is a sign of0 political maturity that will strengthen the nation’s democratic norms.
“Senators Atai Aidoko and Ahmed Salawudeen Ogembe has been at the forefront of opposition elements thus espousing the beauty of democracy. The duo did not succumb to overtures from the ruling party to dump PDP,” he said.
He expressed confidence in the representation of the two senators, House of Rep member and state assembly members for standing strong with PDP, assuring them that the story will change in 2019.
The state chairman said the current political office holders in the federal and state level are good ambassadors worth retaining in future dispensation.
He said the removal of two senators of the ruling APC by Kogi East senator and his Kogi Central counterpart is a major advantage for PDP in the state.
