The Kogi State Chapter of the University of Jos Alumni Association has described the late Deputy Majority of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Buba Jibril as an uncommon democrat who played politics with of all sense of decency and great commitment to creating a just society.
In a statement released by Engr. Oladipo Makakese Bayode, the Chairman of the Kogi State chapter of the Alumni Association, said the body is pained by the fact that the death came when the country’s political landscape needs Buba Jibril’s wealth of parliamentary experience and service to the people.
“We received the news of the death of Rt. Honourable Buba Jibril, the member representing Lokoja-Kogi Constituency and Deputy Majority Leader of Federal House of Representatives with rude shock and a high sense of loss.
“As an association, we have lost a humble, intelligent, resourceful and accessible political leader whose interest on the development of youth is unparalleled. He was an ambassador of the University of Jos Alumni Association both in Kogi and at the National level. He graduated from the University of Jos School of Architecture in 1990.
“The association commiserate with the Nation, Kogi state and the good people of Lokoja and Kogi Local governments in particular while praying that Almighty Allah grants him Aljinat Fridaus and console all those he left behind.”
