Our attention have been drawn to some malicious information, posts and comments trending on various social media platforms and even on the lips of many in Bassa-Nge land, especially his opponents, about the ethnic stock to which Prince Adamu Ibrahim Alih comes from since he boldly signified his intention to join the list of those seeking for the highest office in Bassa local government area.

This style of making an individual looks unattractive to the society especially in politics is a syndrome known in this part of the world. When opponents don’t know which stock left in their arsenal to deploy in running down an opponent, they resort to discrediting him/her using ethnic background and where one’s forebears comes from.

Many followers of happenings in the land were shocked when the news of Prince Adamu not being a Bassa-Nge indigene started trending because having closely followed his activities in various Bassa-Nge Sociocultural Associations most especially Bassa-Nge Online Community (BNOC) as the Publicity Secretary and Acting Director of Finance, where he has remained a dogged, active and outstanding member, he is the incumbent National Social Secretary of Bassa Nge National Youths Association (BNYA), he was one of the Media Aides to Alh. Ibrahim Yusufu, the immediate Past National President of (BNDU). It is therefore wrong for anyone to at this point in time claim he is not from Bassa-Nge district.

To set the record straight, I sought to get clarity from Prince Adamu himself in a phone call. I was surprised at the way he rolled out the history of his family (both father and mother) from about 3 generations before his father (Alhaji Ibrahim Sabo Yafi Kudi).

According to Adamu, his forebears are from a remote part of Bassa-Nge land called Emi-Fobida, his father is Alhaji Ibrahim (Sabo Yafi Kudi) the son of Alih (who died in Gboloko) the son of Amba, the son of Etor, the son of Ba’zala who hails from Emi-fobida in Bassa-Nge District. His Mother (Nache) is the daughter of Abaniwo son of Amdor from Efi in Bassa-Nge District.

According to the Chairmanship hopeful, “My father (Ibrahim) who became an orphan on both side at a tender age left home after the death of his father (Alih) and mother (Zainab) to seek greener pastures elsewhere which landed him in Dekina town. Even at that, we have always kept in touch with our ancestral home and my activities with various groups in our land is an indication that I have not strayed far away from home and which many important sons and daughters of this land can attest to. His Royal Majesty, the Etsu of Bassa-Nge Kingdom knows my father very well. So it’s absolutely funny and disgusting at the same time for people to refer to me as an Igala son.

“My brother, no matter how they try to smear me and my personality, I have already by God Grace indicated interest to contest for the chairmanship position of  Bassa LGA and no going back.

“I’m in the contest to clinch the position and not to add up to the number of contestants and by the special grace of God almighty, I will set a great record by making sure that this land moves out of the doldrums of under development and backwardness. I was born in Dekina and raised in Anyigba, no wonder many thought he is an Igala”.

He was born on 10th March 1986 in Dekina. He attended LGEA Islamia Primary School Dekina were he obtained his FSLC.He proceeded to Muslim High School Anyigba were he obtained his WASSCE. University of Abuja were he obtained his Diploma in Banking and Finance, and Kogi State University Anyigba were he obtained his B.Sc Agric. He secured a job through the help of Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma the then Director of Human Resources at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)
Prince Adamu easily get close and along with virtually everyone especially influential people that matters due to his obedience, loyalty, and truthfulness.

He was consistent in political activities with the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the opposition since 1997 until His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello came onboard in 2015 when Hon. Ahmed Attah the then Bello Coordinator for Kogi East who is now the Zonal Chairman Kogi East woo him to support Gov. Yahaya Bello. He has also remain  absolutely consistent in his political lining as he was resilient and committed to the GYB/CEDO mandate even when he has all the opportunity to leave the GYB/CEDO camp for Baiwa camp, who are his benefactors, he kept his promises of remaining consistent in whatever he does as far politics is concerned and stood firmly and gallantly for GYB/CEDO Mandate.

Prince Adamu has never been Appointed to any political position since his foray into politics, he has also never aspired to any political office except now that he is aspiring to join the race for Bassa LGA Chairmanship.

Prince Adamu Ibrahim Alih is married to Princess Rahmat Tani Yunusa and the union is blessed with a Child named Ibrahim (Yebo-Soko).
