As the 2019 election draws closer, the youths and people of Ankpa local government has called on the member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed to re-contest the house of assembly seat in 2019.
This, according to public opinion, was prompted by the need to have a visionary and dedicated representative and his effort towards the development of his constituency.
Speaking to one of the youth leaders, Hayatullahi Shaibu, he said “Ahmed Ahmed has all the requisite potentials, looking at his track record in the political sphere in less than 2 years by serving in different capacities. He has been a good representative, he knows our pain, he’s always at home with us, he empowered our brothers and sisters, he’s providing water for almost every communities, rehabilitating schools, entrepreneurship programs, and has been very vibrant on the floor of the House. What he has done so far is beyond what an assembly member will do, and for now, we are pleading for him to re-contest so that our people can feel this impact more. He is a grassroot man and he knows our problem”.
On the streets of Ankpa we see children wearing his T-Shirts, with APC logo, with his picture and with a caption “Let’s do it again”, “4+4”, “We want you again”.
Sampling public opinion of Ankpa sons and daughters home and in the diaspora also speak good about Ahmed Ahmed. A social media influencer and critic for good governance, Mr. Alhassan Suleiman wrote:
“While other politicians think of what to say during the electioneering to garner support, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed is inundated with recommendations from his constituents to contest again. An incredibly intelligible young leader whose penchant for development is unmistakable. Not only has be carved a niche for himself in the political realm but one whose enduring legacies will remain indelible in the minds of the people.”
Ahmed Shuaibu also wrote:
“Ahmed Mohammed is a transformative leader, a man whose emphathy for his people paved way for energy, experience and expertise in genuine representation. A man who wield both power and perspective, yet, humbled enough to stay focused”.
Honorable Ahmed Mohammed, is the Deputy majority leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly.
