Following the Tuesday supreme court judgement dismissing the appeal filed by the candidate Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last gubernatorial election in Kogi state and the immediate past governor Captain Idris Wada, a former member of the national caretaker committee of the party, Barrister Kabir Usman said the decision of the apex court has been sacrificed for Nigeria’s thriving democracy while extending olive branch to the aggrieved APC members to join the most democratic party in Nigeria, PDP.
In a press statement in Abuja, Barrister Usman reiterated the need to abide by the judgement adding the party and her candidate fought a decent battle gallantly.
The legal icon said PDP will continue to show good example by pledging allegiance to the rule of law and the judicial process and urge PDP members and supporters not to despair. He promised that in the weeks and months ahead, every legitimate step will be taken to reposition the party for the task ahead.
Barr Kabir said it is only the PDP that can once again take Nigeria to greater heights in the area of qualitative education, robust economy, unparalleled investment, and quality healthcare.
He thanked members for their commitment, dedication and loyalty.
