The leadership of Network for Change and Good Governance, NCGG, has stated that it will not join the band wagon of undemocratic opportunity-seekers who are congratulating Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his embarrassing and illegal inauguration as Kogi State Governor.
Speaking to Kogireports yesterday, the National Chairman of NCGG, Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi, said the actions of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the John Oyegun-led APC in the institutionalised illegality in the Kogi state governorship impasse has caused Kogi State national embarrassment.
Atumeyi faulted the Chief Justice of Kogi State, Justice Nasir Ajanah, for swearing-in Yahaya Bello despite the glaring constitutional breaches. He alleged that Ajanah’s action was predicated on ethnic consideration.
The NCGG boss called on Alhaji Yahaya Bello to resign honourably to pave way for the democratic and legal swearing-in of the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly as Acting Governor.
“What kind of Change is President Buhari implementing in Kogi State? The continuous abuse of democratic ideals in Kogi State place a huge question mark on Buhari’s democratic credentials. Anyway, 2019 is around the corner”, he said.
“I called on John Odigie-Oyegun to resign from his position as APC National Chairman for playing ‘Jankara Politics’ in Kogi State. He is a national embarrassment”
