Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has flagged off the construction of 16 kilometres Ganaja/Otokiti dual carriage way in Lokoja, the state capital.
Flagging off the road, which is expected to cost N2.9 billion, Wada warned contractors against a shoddy job, just as he added that government officials who connive with contractors would be shown the way out.
According to him, the project when realized, would not only check traffic in the capital city, but also boost social economic activities of residents. The contractor has 18 months to complete the project. “There is alarming increase in the influx of people to Lokoja in view of its strategic location, hence the need for a by-pass,” he said.
