The State Governor, Captian Idris Wada, who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, disclosed this at a meeting with council chairmen of local government areas, traditional rulers, religious leaders and development partners on polio eradication and sensitisation of stakeholders on the mandate of the newly established Kogi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (KSPHCDA).
The expanded meeting was also organised to review the first quarter activities on routine immunization and polio eradication in the state.
Wada commended the feat achieved in the eradication of polio by the state, and explained that the establishment of KSPHCDA
Is aimed at bringing primary healthcare services nearer to the people at the grass roots.
He called on parents to always present their children under the age of five for routine immunisation, and enjoined traditional and religious leaders to continue to facilitate and mobilise their communities to participate in healthcare programmes.
