I am not a good nor professional writer but manage what I am able to write here and focus on the message I am trying to pass.
Our leaders might be rich in the physical but literally they are hungry individuals who would sell their people for financial gains at any slight opportunity. You know, the other day I asked a older friend why till now no Ebira man has come out to declare interest for the gubernatorial seat.. ‘why would any one show interest? They are scared of losing’. He replied.
I could still remember vividly, those days Late Senator A.T. Ahmed declared interest, he had strong contenders and among them is former Nigerias’ Ambassador to Sudan, Alhaji Usman Bello. Unfortunately, non of them where successful in the race. (Needless to say their disunity to bring forward a single candidate led us to where we are today)
Let me bring you a little back to the title of my post; they are power hungry but how will you be where you want to be when your heart is torn between financial gains and the love of your motherland.
Dr Tom Ohikere became enemy of Idris Wada’s government and began to give Anebira the impression of having their love at heart but unknown to many, he is only against the said government because he expected a political appointment and was denied the privilege.
Sen. Ohize, Sen. Ohiare fighting for APC’s Kogi Central leadership and are both contesting for our senatorial seat in the National Assembly..and a whole lot of other political ups and downs trailing Kogi central.
Meanwhile, we have businessmen that have taken the betterment of Ebira as their utmost priority. One among these few honorable men is the founder and pioneer of the Proudly Anebira group, Alhaji Abu Imam. From where I am I have seen and heard about his involvement in the development of Ebiraland. These people have not been in power because they are at least for now not politicians but from their own sweat, they are seeing to the general good of Ebira. While those given money for the land and its peoples’ development rather use it to enrich themselves, acquiring choice properties in choice locations.
Shame on them all.
