A Lokoja Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded one Chukwuma Mathew, a sales boy and Muhammed Ibiyomi, a business man, for allegedly killing one Isah Musa.

Chief Magistrate Alhassan Hussein yesterday ordered the remand of the accused persons upon their arraignment by the police.
According to the First Information Report, Chukwuma Mathew, 18, of Seriki Noma area of Lokoja and Muhammed Ibiyomi, 22, of Angwar Kura street, Lokoja, were charged with criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, offences that are contrary to Section 97 (1) and 221 of the Penal Code.

The police prosecutor, C. S. Ayabatu, told the court that on May 24,2014, one Fatai Jubril of Fele area of Lokoja, reported at B Division and Department of Criminal Investigation, that on the same date, while they were at a club, one OJo, conspired with a group of boys and stabbed his friend, Isah Musa, with a knife on his neck.

He alleged that Isah later died at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, while receiving treatment. The prosecutor added that investigation led to the arrest of the accused persons.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges while their counsel urged the court to grant them bail. But the prosecutor objected to the bail application, saying that such would jeopardize investigation.
