A Federal lawmaker, Hon. Ismail Hussain, a.k.a Ismaila soullova, and a former Minister, Humphrey Abah has been fingered as brains behind the arrest and detention of the member representing Igalamela/Odolu in Kogi State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Sani, a.k.a Makama.

Humphrey Abah, Ismaila Soullova and Makama are all from the same local government in Kogi State, Igalamela/Odolu. It is common knowledge in Igalamela/Odolu that these politicians are entangled in power tussle. Makama’s candidate in the last local government election, Hon. Zakito, emerged victorious against the wishes of contending factions. Makama has since become the key political figure in the local government and the Abuja-based politicians from Igalamela are bent on reversing this.

In an open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, the Chairman, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Igalamela/Odolu LGA, Mr Nicolas Enemaku alleged that a former minister and a present federal lawmaker are enacting an orchestrated plot to destroy the person and office of Elder Friday Sani Makama.

Enemaku argued that Makama’s enemies are bent on destroying him because of their 2015 political ambitions.

“Recently, Elder sani had gone to court and obtained an ex-parte motion restraining the Police among others, from arresting him pending the determination of a subsisting case before the Federal High Court in Lokoja. Surprisingly, despite the court ordewr, the police went ahead to arrest Elder Friday Sani on the grounds we did not understand”

“Currently, Elder Sani is overhauling and giving a total facelift to one of the largest markets in Kogi East, specifically, Ajaka Central Market and also digging boreholes and providing social infrastructures for his people. As a result of these tremendous achievements, the enemies who have been clamouring to destabilize and destruct the activities and programmes of our dear great party, PDP felt bad and went into anti-progressives, anti-development, and pull-him-down syndrome and began to use their influence and old connections in Abuja to intimidate our fathers, mothers, and youths who are mainly PDP members”
