On Tuesday night, gunmen suspected to be armed robbers bombed a police station at Ogori, in Ogori/Magongo local government of Kogi State, killing a police corporal.
The attack was similar to previous ones experienced in Kogi State late last year. It will be recalled that some gunmen had similarly invaded and bombed Kabba and Aiyetoro-Gbedde police stations last year.
The slain police corporal had attempted to engage the armed robbers.
The assailants bombing the armoury and took away all the arms and ammunition in the station.
The police command at the state and zonal level must put in more efforts to curtail the rising activities of criminals in Kogi State.
