New members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) from the Kogi State Chapter have been charged to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals of public relations practice as they begin their professional journey.
The charge was given by the Chairman of the Kogi State Chapter, Ismaila Isah, at the institute’s 3rd Quarter Induction ceremony for 2026, held in Abuja, where 310 new members were officially inducted into the NIPR.
Congratulating the inductees for opening a new chapter in their professional lives, Isah advised them to remain focused, continue building their intellectual capacity, and take full advantage of opportunities such as mentorship and networking that the NIPR offers.
He noted that the institute has a vast pool of intellectual resources and experienced professionals that new members must tap into to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their capacity as communications practitioners.
As a token of encouragement from the Kogi State Chapter, Isah presented the inductees with copies of Aren’t We All PR People?, a book written by veteran public relations practitioner Ahmed Balarabe. He urged the new members to take active part in the chapter’s activities going forward.
In his address, the NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, charged the inductees to see themselves as key players in nation-building and national integration. He observed that, despite the country’s challenges, Nigeria remains one of the world’s most blessed nations given its diversity and its abundant human and natural resources.
Dr. Neliaku further urged the new members to uphold the ethics of the profession, continue to build their professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
A total of 310 new members were inducted into the NIPR at the Abuja ceremony.
