The Ohi of Okene,HRH,Alhaji(Dr) Isa Mamman has congratulated the president of Igbo community in Ebira land, High chief Joseph Anikwe, on the occasion of his installation/coronation as Ozor by the people of his home community (Nporogwu Ukehe) in Igbo-Etiti LGA of Enugu State.
The ceremony which held last weekend drew a roll call of attendees that included a delegation from Okene District Council,the Association of Igbo in Ebira land and other well-wishers.
In a message signed by the Ohi of Okene and read at the coronation ceremony, the Ohi while felicitating with the newly coronated Ozor, described him as a man of peace, a versatile personality, and a bridge builder, whose negotiating abilities has helped promote peace and harmony between the Igbos and Ebiras.
The Ohi, whose message was read by Ohi’s palace secretary,charged the new Ozor to use his new position in the services of his people and members of his community in Ebira land.
In his response, the newly coronated traditional chief expressed his appreciation to the Ohi of Okene, members of Igbo community in Ebira land, Okene Catholic church delegation and others that travelled to Enugu State to witness the occasion.
He then assured that the traditional title of Ozor conferred on him is a call for greater service to his community and humanity.
The new Ozor seized the opportunity to commend the efforts of Kogi State governor ,especially in the area of peace and security and promised the loyalty and the support of the Igbo community to governor Ododo’s administration.
