The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Abdulkadir Ibrahim, has called on residents of the constituency to reflect on and imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) as Muslims across the country mark this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
In a goodwill message issued by his media team, Hon. Abdulkadir described the celebration, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet, as “a profound opportunity to reflect upon the life, teachings, and exemplary character of the greatest messenger of Allah.”
Extending his message to both Muslims and non-Muslims within the constituency, the PDP candidate urged residents to embrace the principles of peace, justice, kindness, tolerance, honesty and compassion that defined the Prophet’s life, describing them as “a timeless guide for us to navigate the challenges of today’s world with grace, dignity, and empathy.”

He further called on constituents to use the period to strengthen bonds of unity and support within their communities.
“Let us embrace the virtues of unity, selflessness, and generosity that the Prophet (S.A.W.) exemplified throughout his life,” he said, urging residents to extend a helping hand to the less privileged and foster harmony across communities in the constituency.
Beyond the religious message, Hon. Abdulkadir used the occasion to reflect on his bid to represent Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, expressing gratitude for the support he has received from constituents as the PDP’s candidate ahead of the 2027 polls.
He described his pursuit of the mandate as “a sacred call to serve our people with commitment, integrity, and accountability,” adding that his candidacy is driven by a desire to provide representation that is accessible, responsive and focused on attracting development through effective legislation and oversight.
The lawmaker-hopeful listed education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, agricultural support and employment creation as key priority areas that would shape his legislative agenda if elected.
“I reaffirm my commitment to prioritising improved education, strengthened healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, agricultural support, and employment creation—areas that have a direct impact on the lives of our people,” he said.
Hon. Abdulkadir rounded off his message with prayers for continued peace, unity and progress across Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Kogi State and Nigeria at large, wishing constituents and their families the blessings of the season.
