A socio-political group, the Okun Artisan Movement (OAM), has thrown its weight behind Muyiwa Fatosa of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Kogi West Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced on Monday in Kabba during a press briefing addressed by the group’s spokesperson, Babatunde Olorunshola.

Speaking to newsmen, Olorunshola said the decision followed a careful assessment of aspirants seeking to represent Kogi West at the National Assembly.

According to OAM, Fatosa’s national and international exposure will be of significant benefit to the senatorial district, particularly in attracting investments, federal projects, and partnerships capable of improving the lives of residents.

The group described Fatosa as a young, vibrant grassroots politician with a proven record of service, noting his stint as Special Assistant on Media to former Kano State Governor, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. During that time, the spokesperson said, Fatosa touched many lives, including through scholarships offered to indigent students.

OAM further stated that Fatosa’s track record of integrity and experience makes him the best candidate to advance the interests of Kogi West.

“We believe Fatosa has what it takes to give Kogi West quality representation. His experience, exposure, and commitment to service stand him out among other aspirants,” the spokesperson said.

The group urged artisans, traders, and residents of Kogi West to rally behind the NDC candidate, saying his emergence would usher in a new era of purposeful representation for the district.
