Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Sunday received the Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The chairmen, led by the State APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Momoh Ezzu, said their visit was to reassure the former governor of their unwavering commitment to working for his election, as well as the success of all other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The APC Chairman in Adavi Local Government Area, Comrade Barnabas Oyibo, said electing former Governor Yahaya Bello to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly would amount to a referendum, which, according to him, the people are prepared to conduct through the ballot.

Describing the former governor as a tested, trusted and accomplished leader, Comrade Oyibo said Bello’s record in office speaks for itself, stressing that his achievements across various sectors would serve as a strong campaign for his election.

He further disclosed that APC members across the Central Senatorial District had constituted themselves into various groups and associations to mobilise support and work towards the success of the party and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Responding, the former governor thanked the chairmen for their steadfast belief in his leadership and expressed appreciation for their continued support. He assured them that, if elected, representing the interests of the people of Kogi Central would remain a key priority, alongside his constitutional legislative responsibilities at the National Assembly.

Addressing the group at his Abuja residence on Sunday, Bello urged the party chairmen to remain united, strengthen their grassroots mobilisation and avoid internal differences that could undermine the collective interests and electoral prospects of the APC.
