The Bassa-Nge Community Development Network (BNCDN) is set to unveil the winners of the Bassa-Nge Music Contest, with a total prize of N700,000 to be shared among the top three contestants.

The winners will be unveiled on 29th August, 2026 at the Bassa-Nge National Youth Conference, where they will be recognised for their performances in the competition.

The contest was organised to discover and encourage young musical talents while giving Bassa-Nge youths an opportunity to promote their language, culture and identity through music.

The initiative also seeks to give young artistes greater visibility and encourage them to develop their talents.

The contest is one of the youth-focused programmes of the BNCDN under the leadership of its President, Mr. Emmanuel Joseph Yaba, with emphasis on youth participation, talent discovery and the promotion of Bassa-Nge cultural heritage.

The competition attracted entries from talented Bassa-Nge youths who displayed their musical abilities and knowledge of the community’s language and culture.

Beyond the prize money, the contest is aimed at encouraging young people to use their talents to preserve and promote Bassa-Nge culture through modern forms of expression.

The unveiling of the winners is expected to be one of the highlights of the National Youth Conference, which will bring together youths, traditional leaders, stakeholders and other members of the Bassa-Nge community.

The organisers expressed hope that the initiative would continue to encourage young people to participate in programmes that promote talent, culture and youth development.
