Rep Salman Idris Pledges Continued Support for Akogba Mountain Hike

Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. (Arc.) Salman Idris, has commended the oragnizers of Akogba Mountain Hike for sustaining an initiative that promotes healthy living, tourism, unity, and community development.

Speaking at the official flag-off ceremony of the 2026 Akogba Mountain Hike, held on Friday at Oja Ojude, Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu local government area of Kogi state, the lawmaker pledged his commitment to supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people and encourage youth participation in productive and developmental activities.

Represented by Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta who led members of the Tiwa N’Tiwa team to the event, Arc. Salman called for more support for laudable initiatives that engenders community development.

He commended the Board of Trustees and the Central Planning Committee, under the leadership of Barr. Dayo Babalola.

The invitation followed the recognition of Hon. (Arc.) Salman Idris as the key sponsor of the 2026 Akogba Mountain Hike, in appreciation of his commitment to community development, youth empowerment, eco-tourism, and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Ekinrin-Adde.

The ceremony attracted dignitaries, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and hundreds of hikers from within and outside Kogi State, underscoring the growing significance of the Akogba Mountain Hike as one of the state’s foremost tourism and cultural events.

The organisers expressed their appreciation to Hon. (Arc.) Salman Idris for his generous sponsorship and support, while also thanking Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta for honouring the invitation on his behalf and identifying with the vision of advancing tourism and community development in Ekinrin-Adde.

In the entourage were the Ijumu LGA APC Youth Leader, Hon. Amodu Bolawale; the APC Ward Chairman for Ayegunle/Iluhafon Ward; the Ward Vice Chairman; Ward Youth Leader; Ward Women Leader; Ward Special Assistant, Hon. Othman Amidu; and other critical stakeholders.
