The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has presented its Certificate of Return and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to its candidate for the Ogugu State Constituency seat in the 2027 Kogi State House of Assembly election, Michael Samuel Idoko, officially confirming him as the party’s flag bearer for the poll.
The presentation of the Certificate of Return and INEC nomination forms marks a significant milestone in Idoko’s political journey, signifying the party’s formal endorsement of his candidacy and paving the way for the completion of the electoral nomination process ahead of the 2027 general election.
Idoko, a respected media strategist and Head Media aides to Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, emerged as the PDP’s sole candidate for the Ogugu State Constituency, reflecting the confidence reposed in him by the party leadership and stakeholders.

Speaking shortly after receiving the Certificate of Return and INEC nomination forms, Idoko expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty, the leadership of the PDP, party faithful, delegates, supporters, and the people of Ogugu State Constituency for entrusting him with the party’s mandate.
“To the glory of God Almighty, I have received my Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Certificate of Return and INEC nomination forms as the sole candidate of our great party for the Ogugu State Constituency in the 2027 Kogi State House of Assembly election. I am deeply humbled by this privilege and grateful for the confidence reposed in me.”
Describing his emergence as a call to greater service, Idoko pledged to justify the confidence placed in him through purposeful leadership and people-oriented representation.
“This mandate is not about me; it is about the aspirations of our people. I remain committed to running an issue-based campaign that focuses on the needs, welfare, and development of every community in Ogugu State Constituency.”
He assured constituents that, if elected, he would prioritize legislation and advocacy aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding access to quality education, strengthening healthcare delivery, creating opportunities for youths and women, and promoting policies that would stimulate economic growth across the constituency.
“If elected into the Kogi State House of Assembly, I will be a strong voice for our people. My commitment is to sponsor impactful legislation, attract meaningful development, empower our youths and women, and ensure that the interests of Ogugu State Constituency are effectively represented.”
The PDP candidate also called on party members and supporters to remain united and work collectively toward victory in the forthcoming election.
“I urge every member of our great party and all well-meaning sons and daughters of Ogugu to remain united. Together, we can build a constituency where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive. This is the beginning of a journey to deliver purposeful and accountable representation.”
A native of Kogi East Senatorial District, Idoko has earned recognition for his contributions to media and public communication, as well as his advocacy for youth empowerment, community development, and good governance. His role in legislative communication has further strengthened his profile as a public servant with a passion for effective representation.
Political observers and party stakeholders have described his emergence as a welcome development, expressing optimism that his experience in strategic communication, legislative support, and grassroots engagement will position him to provide effective representation at the Kogi State House of Assembly.
With campaigns expected to gather momentum in the coming months, Idoko’s candidacy is already generating enthusiasm among supporters, many of whom believe his vision, experience and commitment to public service will usher in a new era of responsive leadership and accelerated development for Ogugu State Constituency.
