In every thriving democracy, the strength of leadership is measured not only by influence at the top but by impact at the grassroots. It is in the villages, markets, wards, and communities where true political relevance is built and sustained. Today, we celebrate a shining example of grassroots leadership, a man whose dedication to the people has transformed mobilisation into a powerful instrument of empowerment and progress—Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi, the Kogi State Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM).
As the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilisation, I proudly acknowledge the remarkable contributions of Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi, whose unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda continues to resonate across Okun Land and the entire Kogi State. Through strategic engagement, inclusive participation, and people-focused initiatives, he has elevated grassroots mobilisation beyond politics, making it a mission of service and development.
A defining moment of this commitment was witnessed on April 18, 2026, in Lokoja, when the City Boy Movement, under his visionary leadership, delivered impactful empowerment programmes to citizens across Kogi East, Kogi West, and Kogi Central. Wheelchairs were distributed to persons living with disabilities, sewing machines and clippers were presented to aspiring entrepreneurs, while food items reached vulnerable families in need. These interventions reflected a leadership style anchored on action, compassion, and tangible results rather than mere rhetoric.

Recognising his exceptional organisational capacity and grassroots appeal, Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi was entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the City Boy Movement’s structure across the state. Since assuming office, he has relentlessly expanded the movement’s presence from ward to ward, local government to local government, ensuring that the message of Renewed Hope reaches every doorstep. Across Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopamuro, and beyond, dedicated coordinators are actively engaging communities and building a formidable political structure rooted in service and participation.
His leadership has also become a rallying point for young people across Kogi State. Through advocacy, mentorship, and mobilisation, he continues to champion youth inclusion in governance and political processes ahead of 2027. His message of unity, discipline, and strategic political engagement has inspired thousands, particularly in Okun Land, where communal solidarity remains a vital pillar of progress. The massive turnout witnessed during the Lokoja empowerment programme was a testament to the growing confidence people have in his leadership and vision.
Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi has consistently demonstrated that grassroots mobilisation must go hand in hand with support for developmental governance. He has openly commended the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for visible infrastructural development, economic initiatives, and people-oriented policies across the state. According to him, effective governance naturally earns public trust, and it is the responsibility of grassroots leaders to connect the people with policies that positively impact their lives.
The City Boy Movement remains a grassroots-driven platform committed to youth engagement, civic participation, and the promotion of the Renewed Hope Agenda. With Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi at the forefront of its activities in Kogi State, the movement continues to gain momentum, fostering political awareness, empowerment, and community development.
As Kogi State advances towards a brighter future, one thing is clear: under the energetic leadership of Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi, Okun Land is not standing still. It is organising, empowering, mobilising, and positioning itself as a strategic force for sustainable development, political inclusion, and enduring progress.
