Hon. Bambu Ali Tanko, an All Democratic Congress (ADC) aspirant for Lokoja 1 State Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly, has said his ambition is driven by what he described as a “clarion call” from the people of his constituency.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with this reporter, Hon. Ali outlined his legislative vision, priority areas, and what he intends to do differently if given the mandate in the forthcoming election.

According to him, his aspiration is not self-serving but anchored on the collective demand of the people for better representation, inclusion, and development.
“My aspiration is an answer to a clarion call by the good people of Lokoja 1 State Constituency who believe it is time for purposeful, accessible, and people-driven representation,” he said.
Legislative Agenda
Hon. Ali explained that his focus at the State Assembly would be anchored on impactful lawmaking, especially sponsoring bills that directly improve the lives of constituents.
He pledged to prioritize legislation that addresses education, youth empowerment, healthcare delivery, and community development.
“I intend to sponsor bills that will have direct positive impact on our people. Representation must go beyond mere presence; it must translate into meaningful laws that improve livelihoods,” he stated.
Accessibility and Grassroots Engagement
The aspirant emphasized accessibility as a core pillar of his proposed representation, noting that elected officials must remain close to the people at all times.
He criticized what he described as the widening gap between representatives and constituents, promising a different approach.
“One of the key things I will do differently is accessibility. The people must not struggle to reach their representative. I will remain available, visible, and accountable,” he assured.
Inclusive Representation
Hon. Ali further stressed the importance of inclusivity, saying all communities, groups, and demographics within Lokoja 1 deserve equal attention.
He added that leadership must reflect fairness and a sense of belonging for all constituents, regardless of political or social differences.
“My representation will be all-inclusive. Every ward, every community, every group will be carried along. No one will be left behind,” he said.
Town Hall Meetings Initiative
In what he described as a key innovation in his approach to representation, Hon. Ali announced plans to institutionalize regular town hall meetings across Lokoja 1 Constituency.
He explained that the initiative would provide a platform for direct engagement between him and his constituents.
“I will establish regular town hall meetings with the people of my constituency. This will ensure constant dialogue, feedback, and accountability in governance,” he said.
Call to the Electorate
Hon. Ali urged voters in Lokoja 1 to consider competence, sincerity, and track record in choosing their representatives, assuring that he is prepared to serve with dedication if elected.
He expressed optimism about the political future of the constituency, saying renewed leadership would bring improved development outcomes.
The ADC hopeful reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented politics, adding that his campaign will remain focused on issues rather than personal attacks.
