One of the Ward Coordinator of the member representing Yagba East state constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly has reportedly been arrested over alleged fraudulent activities.
According to emerging reports, the coordinator, Sunday Komolafe is accused of falsely presenting himself as a distributor with Coca-Cola and defrauding a young woman of 230k under the promise of making her a mini distributor.
Speaking on the developing story, a resident, Ejiwumi Omolade Tobi, said “what makes this development even more concerning is that the same individual was recently “empowered” with a car by the House of Assembly member, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, despite reportedly lacking a sustainable source of income.
“This incident raises serious questions about the structure and intention behind empowerment initiatives, and whether due diligence is being properly carried out before such opportunities are given.”
Efforts made to get a reaction from lawmaker proved abortive as at press time.
