Your Excellency,
I write to you with deep respect and a strong sense of responsibility as a concerned stakeholder in the development of Okene Local Government Area and Kogi Central at large. Your leadership has brought renewed hope to our people, and it is in that spirit that I humbly draw your attention to some critical areas that require urgent intervention, particularly in the education and infrastructural sectors.
- Establishment of a Satellite University Campus in Okene
Okene, despite its population, strategic importance, and contribution to the state, remains without a single higher institution. This has continued to limit opportunities for our youth and contributes to educational migration. I strongly appeal for the establishment of a satellite campus—accommodating at least two to three departments or a full faculty—to serve the growing number of qualified students within the area. This initiative will not only expand access to tertiary education but also stimulate economic and social development. - Construction of an Ultra-Modern E-Library
In this digital age, access to knowledge must go beyond traditional methods. The establishment of an ultra-modern e-library in Okene, possibly located at a centralized point within Adavi or Okehi Local Government Areas, will provide students, researchers, and the general public with access to global learning resources. This will significantly enhance academic performance and intellectual growth in the region. - Establishment of a Skill Acquisition Centre
While the Ihima Technical College remains a commendable institution, there is a pressing need to complement its efforts. I propose the establishment of a modern skill acquisition centre within one of the secondary schools in Okene. This centre will equip our youth with practical skills in areas such as ICT, agriculture, crafts, and vocational trades—reducing unemployment and fostering self-reliance.
It is evident that Okene is currently lagging behind in the area of educational infrastructure, and addressing these gaps will have far reaching positive impacts on the future of our people.

- Establishment of a Truck Garage Along Achoze or Ajaokuta Axis
In addition to educational concerns, there is a growing need to decongest Okene Main Market and surrounding areas from heavy-duty vehicles. The construction of a designated truck garage along the Achoze or Ajaokuta axis will improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and boost commercial activities within the town.
Your Excellency, these requests are not only timely but essential for balanced development within Kogi State. I respectfully urge your administration to give these matters the urgent attention they deserve and take swift action towards their realization.
We remain confident in your commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Engr. Ubaid Chatta
