A a socio-political group, the Tiwa n’ Tiwa Women Vanguard, has declared its unwavering support for the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency, Arc. Salman Idris.

The women group endorsed Arc. Salman for a second term in the national assembly during a stakeholders’ summit in Kabba on Saturday.

Coordinator of the women vanguard, Hon. Mercytosin Olorundare, said the endorsement was not merely a political gesture but a heartfelt “thank you” for a tenure defined by tangible impact, architectural precision in governance, and an unapologetic focus on women’s welfare.

She said since assuming office in the 10th National Assembly, Arc. Salman Idris has transitioned from designing structures to building lives.

Olorundare noted that the Tiwa n’ Tiwa Women Vanguard is a socio-political group known for its “Our Own for Our Own” philosophy.

“From providing scholarships to renovating dilapidated classroom blocks across Ijumu and Kabba-Bunu, Arc. Salman Idris’ ‘Education First Initiative’ has alleviated the burden for thousands of parents.

“In late 2024 and early 2025, Hon. Salman famously distributed empowerment items to over 6,000 constituents, ranging from agricultural inputs to tools for small-scale entrepreneurs.

“His constituency outreaches have provided free medical screenings and surgical interventions, particularly targeting maternal health—a feat that resonated deeply with the Women Vanguard.

“Hon. Salman Idris has shown that representation is not about the seat you occupy, but the lives you touch from that seat. He has been a ‘vanguard’ for our children’s future,” she said.

The women group argued that the progress made in the last two years is too significant to be interrupted. They voiced a collective “Quest for Continuity,” urging the lawmaker to maintain his trajectory of grassroots-oriented legislation.

They applauded the lawmaker for expanding the solar-powered borehole projects to more rural communities, leveraging his architectural background to redesign local markets for better sanitation and security, creating a dedicated hub for women and youths to learn high-demand tech and artisanal skills.

The group said their endorsement comes at a strategic time, as Hon. Salman Idris’s political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC) has consolidated his influence within the state and national machinery. The Women’s Vanguard noted that this move has positioned the constituency to “tap directly into the Renewed Hope agenda” of the federal government.

The women pledged to mobilize across the 30 wards of the federal constituency to ensure that Arc. Salman’s vision for a greater Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu remains on track.
