A member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, High Chief Jibril O. Oiza, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and people-centred representation, describing public service as a privilege rather than a right.
Speaking as a guest on the radio programme Open Governance Forum, High Chief Jibril O. Oiza, who represents Ajaokuta State Constituency, said his leadership philosophy is anchored on service, continuity, and direct engagement with his people.
He noted that serving the people is a rare privilege entrusted to leaders and must be treated with responsibility and humility. According to him, governance should not be driven by party differences but by the needs of the people.
High Chief Oiza stressed that he believes strongly in the continuity of abandoned government projects, regardless of which administration or political party initiated them. He said development must not be politicised when it concerns the welfare of citizens.

The lawmaker further described himself as a messenger of the people, whose duty is to present their needs and concerns to relevant authorities. He added that his primary goal is to make meaningful and lasting impacts on the lives of his constituents.
In an emotional statement, he said he is ready to humble himself before anyone who has the capacity to assist his people, noting that leadership requires sacrifice and empathy.
Demonstrating his commitment to community development, High Chief Oiza announced the donation of a solar-powered streetlight pole to Prime FM Jimgbe immediately after the programme.
He also described himself as a grassroots politician who remains constantly in touch with his constituents, saying regular interaction with the people helps him understand their real needs and priorities.
The appearance of High Chief Oiza on the programme highlighted the importance of constituency engagement and people-oriented governance, as he reiterated his resolve to serve with humility, continuity, and visible impact.
