The Chairman, Mopamuro local government area of Kogi state, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny, has applauded security agents for rescuing kidnap victims.
Gunmen, on Sunday, attacked a Fulani camp at Ojagbe Mopa and abducted two herders, Lami Duroi and Yah Duki.
In a swift response, men of the Nigerian Police Force and Hunters’ group launched an assault on the fleeing bandits.
According to the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Media and Publicity, Olowu Juwon, the combined forces of Police and Hunters led to the rescue of Duki and Duroi.
The Chairman assured residents that criminals have no place in Mopamuro.
He urged residents to be vigilant about their environment and report any strange activities or movements.
Hon. Ademola reiterated his commitment to securing Mopamuro and its environs from any criminal activities.
He also commended the efforts of the gallant officers for being proactive and arresting the situation.
The Council Chairman vowed to apprehend the perpetrators who dare to intrude on the peace of his people.
