A driver with Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Kogi), Muhammed Shaidu, on Tuesday, survived an accident while descending Mount Patti in Lokoja.
Kogi State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Mr Tenimu Yusuf, who confirmed the incident, said he deployed his men to scene for rescue operation when a distressed call came to him.
According to him, the injured driver was rushed to Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, for medical care.
He described the incident as very unfortunate.
Reacting to the incident, the management of Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, explained that the incident occurred while descending the mountain after the driver had dropped off the engineer on morning duty at the Radio Kogi Studio.

Director General of the State Radio, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuf led other management staff to the scene of the accident.
Princess Yussuf confirmed that the driver, who sustained serious injury, was rescued by a team of officers from Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as well as other good Samaritan.
She said the driver is receiving the best medical attention and is responding positively to treatment.
“The State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has taken personal interest in the situation and is doing everything possible to ensure the driver receives top-notch care. We appreciate the swift response of the Road Safety Corps and the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo for their tireless efforts in coordinating the rescue and medical response.
“We wish to assure the public that we are doing everything to support the driver and his family during this challenging time. The Governor’s administration is committed to ensuring the well-being of all staff members and their families,” she added.
