The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has congratulated Muslims in his constituency and across the globe for the successful completion of the Ramadan fasting period, just as he called for the sustenance of the lessons learned during the period.

Senator Oseni’s message came yesterday on the heels of the announcement by the Sultan of Sokoto indicating the sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal in Nigeria.

While maintaining that the period has enabled Muslims across the world to deepen good virtues of sacrifices, love, and supplications, the lawmaker opined that the world would be a better place to live if all values learned could be exhibited in people’s daily interaction with one another.

“During the Ramadan fasting period, we became better people that loved and cared for our neighbour’s welfare. We prayed for the peaceful coexistence of our state and nation, Nigeria. In the same spirit of Ramadan, I urge you all to tolerate one another as we’re all created differently by Almighty Allah for a purpose,” he admonished.

Senator Oseni further prayed for the leadership of Nigeria at various levels while admonishing Nigerians to extend the hand of love and fellowship to the less privileged in the society, adding that such would make the society more habitable.

He called for special prayers for Kogi State as campaign activities for the election of a new Governor would soon begin, and urged politicians to avoid unguarded utterances that could jeopardize the peace that Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration has laboured to sustain in the state.
