As part of the requirements for the use of digital learning devices in schools, the Universal Basic Education Comissiom (UBEC) is set to commence the training of teachers at Abdul Aziz Attah Memorial College (AAAMCO), as well as the installation of updated curriculum on the digital devices donated by the Lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
In a recent statement by the UBEC Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, the Commission explained that there have been some delay due to the late release of the revised curriculum, which became available only two weeks ago, while the teachers training manual finalized a week ago.
Following this development, the Knowledge Asset Manger and Development Expert, Dr. Ossom M. Ossom, said the Commission has resolved to fast-track the process, with training scheduled to commence next week as soon as the necessary details are received from Kogi SUBEB and the school management.
Ossom further assured that he and his team shall mobile to site where they shall physically carry out the exercise as against the usual virtual means.
The Commission further stated that it shall work closely with the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) which is responsible for the secondary school curriculum as well as the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) to ensure effective training of all teachers and use computer devices with fully-installed UBEC learning programs.
