As a proud Nigerian from Dekina LGA, Kogi State, I, Jacob Patrick Kashim, served in Nsukka, Enugu State, during the 2019/2020 NYSC batch. During my service year at Federal Government Girls’ College Lejja-Nsukka, I made significant contributions to the community, including:

  • Skill Acquisition Program: Trained 200 students (150 from FGGC Lejja and 50 from Lejja High School) in tailoring, e-commerce, and cosmetology.
  • Infrastructure Development: Constructed directional signposts and a sentry slab in FGGC Lejja’s assembly ground.
  • Patriotic Initiative: Initiated and hoisted the college flag alongside the Nigerian flag.

These efforts earned me recognition and recommendation letters from FGGC Lejja, Igwe Anthony Ochike, and Lejja High School. Furthermore, I was honored with the State Honour Award in Enugu State for my service year.

However, I was disappointed to learn that my state of service, Enugu, was excluded from the recent Presidential Honor Award 2025. Given my contributions and achievements, I humbly request the intervention of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, NYSC, and relevant individuals to consider my case.

I remain committed to serving my country and contributing to its growth and development.
