The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has confirmed the death of five persons in a ghastly motor accident on the Lokoja-Ajaokuta road in Kogi.
Ogochukwu Ugboma, the state Sector Commander of the FRSC, said this in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday in Lokoja
He said that the victims, three men and two women died on the spot of the accident at Gidan Bassa village.
He said that the accident, which occurred on Thursday, involved three vehicles included a truck belonging to Dangote Cement Company with registration number Kano GWU 34 XA.
The others are: a Hilux pick–up van with registration number CT 29 B02 and Audi TE model car with registration number Lagos 418 AAA.
Ugboma said that a total of seven people were involved in the accident, adding that two of them escaped without any injury.
He attributed the cause of the accident to wrongful overtaken; adding that investigation to ascertain the remote and immediate cause of the accident is underway.
The sector commander said the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
