A member of the National Assembly representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims has obtained nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to participate in the forthcoming primaries.
Halims who doubles as the Deputy Leader of the House obtained the forms through his acolyte, Comrade Muhammed Nasiru Adejoh as he hopes for an endorsement by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a third term on the platform of the ruling party.
The critical stakeholders of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency has also declared its unwavering support for the federal lawmaker, who currently stands as the most senior Legislator from Kogi State.
Whereas a retinue of people had earlier obtained the forms to challenge the Deputy House Leader for the party ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections, Comrade Nasiru berated such ambition and described their actions as an exercise in futility.
He argued that in the events Rep Halims is not adopted as a consensus candidate before the primaries, such election will only be a ceremonial coronation of his candidacy with so much confidence that the people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency can not afford to be taken aback.
