A leading House of Representatives aspirant in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu constituency, Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya has assured electorates of provision of basic amenities when elected.

Omotayo gave the assurance in Iyara during a free eye testing, treatment and counseling outreach by her foundation, Okun Women Development Centre.

She distributed eye glasses to over 2000 beneficiaries. The distribution held simultaneously in Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu Local Government Areas.

In her welcome address, Mrs. Omotayo appealed to the people to see governance as a business for all and sundry. She said the medical outreach is part of the thematic area of intervention of the Okun Women Development Centre.

Omotayo stated that the training and empowerment programme she organised last year for women and girls is yielding positive results as participants are now self-employed. She announced the Okun Women Development Centre has concluded plans to launch ‘Okun Agric Initiative’ very soon.

The guest speaker, Dr. Chukwuemeka encouraged beneficiaries to key into the programme because of the high cost of purchasing eye glasses from the hospital or optician’s outlet.

He announced to the beneficiaries that Mrs. Omotayo has entered into an agreement with some specialist hospitals to bear the cost of eye treatments for beneficiaries with complex eye problems.

The beneficiaries took out time to pray for the organiser and pledged their unalloyed support to her aspiration to represent the constituency as a federal lawmaker.
