The Administrator of Adavi local government area of Kogi state, Hon. Enesi Abu Ajoge has said that youth empowerment and constructive engagement remain the only solution to youths restiveness and insecurity in the state.

According to him “Because of their idle hands, the youth becomes instrument of destruction to the society and posed great danger to the state in the past.

“What we are doing right now in Adavi local government area is to empower them so that they can be self reliant and eventually be  job creators. Of recent we have trained over 60 youths in the areas of soap making, yoghurt production, matches and candle making, and we have also sent 11 youths to acquire the skill of diesel engine mechanics and tractors assembling and as soon as they return we will also empower them to buy tools and owned mechanic workshops”

The administrator who pointed out that he will never relent in his effort to engage the youths in Adavi local government, noted that the council under his leadership has acquired large parcel of land to encourage the youths in farming , adding that if the plan succeed a lot of idle hands in the local government will be drastically reduced.

While calling on other Administrators in the state to priotize youth empowerment   to compliment the effort of the state governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello in providing adequate security of lives and property, Honourable Ajoge maintained that there can not be development in any society where peace is lacking.

He commended the governor for tackling issues of insecurity in the entire parts of the state , saying the effort had started yielding result.

“In the past toward Christmas period, Lokoja -Okene becomes haven for armed robbery and kidnapping , but in the last two years the roads are very free for motorists to ply and similar achievement was recorded the east and western senatorial districts of the state.

“In central senatorial district we just cerebrated Ekwechi festival peacefully without any rancour. In the past it was bedeviled with crises, but Governor Bello’s relentless commitment towards ensuring a peaceful environment  gave rise to the peace the people are enjoying these days” the administrator said.
