The father of Kogi State Governor’s adopted daughter, Mallam Issah Shaibu has expressed his appreciation to the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for keeping to his promise to cater for the welfare and upkeep of their daughter, Rashida Muhammad.
Recall that an Attendant with the General Hospital Idah, Mrs Fatimah Muhammad gave birth to Rashida Muhammad at the venue of Staff Screening Appeal Committee, Government House, Lokoja where the State Governor promised to be responsible for the upkeep of the child. Governor Bello also granted the mother pardon and immediately took her to Federal Medical Center, Lokoja for proper medication.
Consequent on the State Governor gesture, the parent named the daughter, Rashida, after the wife of the state Governor, Hajia Rashida Bello in honour of the state governor’s kind gesture to the family.
Speaking to the press, the father of Rashida, Mallam Issah Shuibu thanked the state Governor for keeping to his promise, the generous upkeep of the child for over two years.
According to him, the first contact of the family with the state governor has brought joy and changed the fortunes of the family. He pointed out that God has used Governor Bello to bring an end to the sufferings in the family and prayed God to protect him and endow him with God wisdom in running the affairs of the state.
Mr Issah Shaibu called on the people of the state to keep faith with the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and expressed optimism that the governor will keep to his promise of moving the state to the next level of growth and development.
Also speaking, the mother of Rashida, Mrs. Fatimah Muhammad thanked the state governor for granting her pardon during the staff screening and appeal exercise.
She described the state governor as a man of his words who has not reneged in his promise to adopt her daughter and prayed God to keep and protect his children.
She appealed to the people of the state to vote for all candidates of All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming general elections and wished the state governor and his candidates resounding success.
