Politician has been told to emulate the leadership trait of Chief Jide Omokore, A Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain who has always play his politics devoid of malice and bitterness.
The Head of the Management team of Yagba-East Local Government of Kogi State, Comrade Shola Adebola who said this while addressing PDP members in Ponyan on Saturday said the political character of Chief Jide Omokoro in the area is unprecedented.
Adebola said Omokore community contribution and philanthropic gesture coupled with his political leadership style has stand him out among political player of the present generation.
“If you look at him you find a perfect example of true leadership. His contribution to the socio -economic development of the country, his unravelled love for his community and personal donation to people shows that leadership is about giving unlike others who always think of their personal gain from such position.”
Continuing “you will recall he was one of the donor to last year flood victims. His continuous donation to religious groups and to the socio amenities of Yagba people amidst others contribution to the society shows that leadership is more of giving than taking. Adebola conclude.
Adebola also hinted that Omokoro has always given the community free hand to choose candidate for any political position of the area against some crops of political leaders who always forced their candidate on the party against the popular demands of the people.
These traits he said help to entrench internal democracy within the party fold and call for politicians in leadership capacity to toe the part of the business mogul.
