The aggregate of past events has time and again shown that for public leadership to be meaningful, it must be taken as a clarion call to service, and for Yahaya Bello, the opportunity was placed in his hands and thrust upon his shoulders by Kogites as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, he emerged second in the 2015 gubernatorial primaries, which automatically won him the seat as the governor of the state after the demise of Late Prince Audu Abubakar.

Prior to Bello becoming Governor, Kogi had been known to be a fatherless and motherless state thrown in cataclysm with decayed education sector, dreadful heath sectors, fiasco agricultural sector, and appalling infrastructural system couples with unpaid salaries, arrears of civil servants cum pensioners and the state with high debt profiles. However, Kogi has started emerging at an outstanding pace through brainchild of the “New Direction Agenda” by prophet of new Kogi and master strategist, Governor Yahaya Bello.

Over the past three and a half years, Kogi has undergone possibly the biggest transformation since its creation in 1991. Change is sweeping across Kogi state and its speed is extraordinary. It is a known saying that “Change is the only thing that is Constant”, but change under Bello has not just been constant, it has been unprecedented and unmatchable.

Kogi has been undergoing a renaissance under Gov. Yahaya Bello. Large scale development across the state is dramatically improving how areas around the city are perceived, making them more desirable places to live and work, and better able to draw new people and businesses across and outside the country.

A new Kogi is emerging, and the transformational change occurring across Kogi, either in terms of the scale of massive infrastructure projects, urban regeneration activity or a shift in perception is monumental and visible throughout the state.

No sector has been left untouched. Salaries owed by the previous government are being cleared as LGAs Salaries are set to be attended to.

Nothing is the same since coming into office. Arts, Culture and the creative sector have received a boost. In actual fact, the Yahaya Bello led government shows no signs of slowing down. Kogi is being propelled light years ahead.

With the bound at which infrastructure development is taking place in Kogi, our city will not just experience 4 years of progress under Governor Yahaya Bello in his first term in office, it seems more like 40 years of progress.

Governor Bello has also  through certain initiatives given Kogites a voice in their government, restrain sentiments, bigotry and bring State House Kogi closer to Kogites.

There is absolutely no question about the ongoing revolution in Kogi which will catapult the state 100 years into the future. What Governor Bello is doing now has etched his footprints on the sands of our times through visionary progressive leadership and hard work to deliver #FutureKogi not only to Kogites, but to Nigeria, Africa and the entire world.

Of course there have been some challenges but it is surmountable and he is ahead of every status quo.

Dear Kogites, we must remember the transformational change Kogi has witnessed under the Governor Yahaya Bello led government since January, 27, 2015 and we must at the least, acknowledge the many projects and transformation Bello has brought. From Kogi East to Kogi Central to Kogi West, Governor Yahaya Bello has created the true legacy for Future Kogi and therefore, a vote for his continuousness in November is a vote for more dividends.
